Our stay at the Guesthouse was amazing. Very peaceful and beautiful. Janell was great, went completley out of her way to make our stay as pleasant and fulfilling as possible. She was like our personal tour guide but from her home. And the remodling work that Paul has done is extremely remarkable. My words could never do it justice. We thank you for the very special and precious memories you allowed us to make with our boys at your Guesthouse. We look forward to seeing the finished "bunkhouse". The Harpster-Davenport Guesthouse was the perfect getaway for me! I needed to get out of the city, but couldn't go too far away from my business in Michigan. Two days at this quaint, lovely guesthouse was so comfortable and relaxing that I will be booking another mini-trip very soon! Thank you Janell and Paul for providing such a pleasant experience away from home!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for her birthday weekend. I spoke to Janell on the phone and had visited the website (which although a good and thorough website, does not do the Guest House justice), but was not 100% sure of what we would be in for. Boy were we utterly and pleasantly surprised. The website does not capture the true ambience of what you receive when you stay here. There is a peace and serenity that exudes from the Guest House. None of this can be captured in mere pictures. Everything about the Guest House was wonderful. Janell and Paul are extremely kind-hearted and generous people. They were wonderful hosts. I specially appreciated that Janell went the extra mile for me to make my girlfriend's weekend extra special. I will not hesitate to book the Guest House again! Everything about the Harpster-Davenport Guest House was great. The location was exactly what we wanted. The hospitality was second to none.

This was kinda a last minute getaway for us. At first when we were booking our first stay at the Davenport Guesthouse, we were a bit apprehensive of what we were going to be getting. After speaking with the owner (Janell) she assured us if we were looking for a peaceful relaxing time, that this was the place. All I can say is SHE WAS SO RIGHT! WE LOVED IT!! Everything about our stay was outstanding. From the decor of the tastefully decorated house to the serenity of the country life. Everything we needed seemed to be right at our fingertips. The owners were more than accommodating helping us enjoy our getaway to the fullest. Long story short....we loved our stay and plan to have this Guesthouse as our little getaway for as long as possible!
